| sea cycle a collections of water poems. the way down there's no warmth upon this shore no one comes here anymore i've been treading for so long soon the sea will send me on but i know that deep below i can let the regrets go so i'm floating on the top and i'm too afraid to stop till i teach myself to sink take the dive and plunge beneath i'm just looking for the way down some water deep enough to drown some way to bring me back to you and drag me down into the blue it's all become so simplified i sense the shifting of the tide and know exactly what to do yes, i'll bring you under too until i weep i need i need your mouth on me you mouth your lips your tongue your teeth you're too damn slow, don't be so weak just make me burn, just take me deep come in me until i weep take me down, suck me under pull me through, roll me over break me, make me lose my breath lay on me that little death tear me till there's nothing left i'm almost there almost there almost almost there there there oh right there one another's shore the light pools at your feet and drips between your toes i'm standing far too far away encumbered by too many clothes i need to have your mouth on mine i'm taking in i'm almost there my hands are shaking, i can see the wake they're leaving in the air and we've rippled the water in our search for each other with nothing left to do but tread and dread the thought of going under rip into me and i will ebb over you and we will come together crashing into one another's shore you've permeated all my senses filled my arms with salt embraces buoy me against your body raise me up, i'm growing heavy and we've moved with the current in our desperate torment slick i slide along your skin open up and let me in |
